IPIQURIUN PHILOSOPHY ( HEDONISM )
The Ipiqurius philosophy of ancient ‘Unan (Greece)’, which has been considered to hae begun during 17th century A.D ; It is also famous as the philosophy of prosperity, which has lot of similarities with the principles of Charvak from ancient India. The motivator of philosophy of materialistic prosperity ( Hedonism ) was Ipiquerius. After that, this philosophy was amended and spread by intellectuals like Germibentham, James Mill, Recordo Helvetius, HaulBakh, John Austin, Hobslock etc.
The basic aspects of this philosophy is as mentioned below :
Any activity which gives pleasure is the right kind of activity, and the activity which gives pain is the bad one.
Man wants pleasure only, and wants to get away from miseries.
Make money, have good food, drink well, make merry and make yourself happy at any cost.
The main aim of a man was to have pleasure only ! Thus, personal freedom was more stressed upon, those time.
Morality cannot be implemented on this philosophy. It possible only, morality should be brought into practice, but morality is not a must in this philosophy.
Different systems adapted by the states where based on –"Maximum pleasure for maximum number of people".

The negative aspects of the Principles of Charwak (Hedonism) have been discussed below :-
Craving for sighting the means for pleasure.
Shortage of the medium for pleasure.
Fear of total exhaustion of the resources for pleasure.
Fear of burglary, and fear up being cheated.
Saturation of mind born out of excessive enjoyment.
Idleness.
Treachery in relations.
Reduction in health (AIDS).
Mockery from people.
Lack of control over desire.
Selfish attitude.
Exploitative mentality.

This philosophy promotes the attitude of exploitation and partiality. When we look for pleasure we exploit some body or other, or enjoy them. Whoever we want to exploit, the same person wants to exploit us as well. And, everybody puts others in trouble for the sake of their own pleasure, people put more pain on others in order to get more pleasure. This germinates situations for violence and other controversies, it then leads to a tense atmosphere. Analyzing the above negative aspects of hedonism it becomes obvious that going after pleasure will create discontentment in the same proportion. So, here it should be stressed up on the fact that one should look for his own happiness by keeping the happiness of others also in the mind.
For that, one has to take a moderate path of 50% pleasure and 50% sacrifice. If we take care of others’ happiness then they will also take care of ours. Love, cooperation, service mentality, scene of belongingness, dedication, sacrifice, pity, dutiful, laborious attitude, discipline, physical exercise, self control, health, education, and the extension of the medium of pleasure should be brought into our life. By doing this, when we find pleasures in others’ happiness, the pleasure derived out of it becomes a permanent one. And, the principles of hedonism can be brought into action in a proper manner.

When you enjoy the life to its full by those principles of hedonism, you automatically reach to the last step of life i.e. austerity. Austerity cannot be imposed on anybody by force. Neither can it be taken up by force ; It only be connived. The first step for austerity is – ‘Living the life to its full’. There is no shortage of medium for pleasure in this world. The things in shortage are a good friend, a proper mentor and somebody who understands the depth of love.
Abstinence should be exercised in the life from every corner. Take care of the feelings of others as well as the time factor. Talk that much what is required be watchful towards you duties and responsibilities be attentive towards the job your doing at present and don’t think over any other matter while carrying out some task, because it may cause some accident. Don’t loose patience even at the worst of circumstances. Don’t let the laziness and negativity enter into your mind, they are greatest enemies of human being. Keep your self happy to the optimum level. Adore the power of eternity, but don’t waste your time appeasing it much. Almighty is always with you who is a witness to every act of yours. Human being is at the apex of infinite potentiality.

You can do everything, can get everything, can become everything and you can go for as your imagination can go. All potentiality is hidden inside you. You have to fix a target first and lay promise on it, and get yourself involved until you achieve the goal. With your power of strong determination you will generate the ability in yourself to achieve the goal only, a strong determination and faith is required.
Come, from today itself we promise that – we will look after the joy of others by getting ourselves away from selfishness. We will consider others’ miseries as our own and others’ joy as our betterments. As far as possible, we will take care of others’ feelings, this is the theme of spirituality.
This selfless attitude will place all the living beings in the garland of peace, together. For that – combined effort is fruitful, not the personal one.

If this is vowed by all human beings, then we no cause left for miseries. And if, in spite of all these something unpredictable occurs, we together can face it gladly. This creation is our body, it has to be well decorated, well arranged and has to be well civilized by only us. The minute handicraft lies in the hand of minute hands. The prime soul (Almighty) will arrange and decorate this creation only though us. Because, ‘he’ and us are not separate from each other.
Darkness never side away by itself, neither can it be removed, but with the presence of light it get cornered automatically by the rays of light.
